Packing Tips (Electronics)
Ship To School service with Collegeboxes.com is a great way to ship your boxed items to school. One important thing to remember is to pack your electronics very carefully
Here are a few packing tips that Collegeboxes.com has learned with experience, along with some tips from our friends at FedEx.
Our number 1 tip for shipping flat screen TV's and other electronics is to use the original box, then wrap the original box, and place in a 2nd larger box for added protection. Below are some detailed tips from FedEx.
Basic Box-In-Box Packing Method
- Wrap product(s) individually with at least 2” thickness of Bubble Wrap® or foam material to fit snugly inside a corrugated box.
- Use a second, outer container that is at least 6” longer, wider and deeper than the inner box.
- Fill the bottom of the outer box with 2” to 3” of cushioning material.
- Place the inner box in the centre of the outer box on top of the cushioning material.
- Fill voids on all sides with more cushioning material.
- Seal box.
