Package size and weight limits for shipping

As you prepare your boxes to Ship To School this fall, you may wonder just how large or heavy your packages can be.  Here are some simply guidelines to follow, to make sure you packages are accepted and arrive safely on time.

Max Weight:  70LBS
Max Length:   108"  (longest side)
Max Size:       165" in combined lenght plus girdth (L + 2W + 2H)

Oh no, is that algebra!  Here is the simple explanation for the mathematically challenged.
Take the longest side (L), then add 2 times the width (W), then add 2 times the height (H).

Packing with our Signature
College Box (24"x18"x16")

Let's look at an example:
For our signature College Box, the formula would be:  24" + 2 x 18" + 2 x 16" = 92".  Collegeboxes recommends you keep our box under 45LBS, so everything arrives safely, but your package will ship, as long as you keep it under 70LBS.

Now that you know what you can ship, sign up today to receive your boxes and have all your packages shipped to school!

  3. Thanks for sharing these great tips. Sometimes we just have too much to ship, until we overlook the weight limits that have been set by the shipper. In actual fact, some of us do not even know there is a weight limit to begin with! It is good that you provide these ready made storage boxes with the recommended measurements intact. This way, we save time and effort in searching for the right dimensions boxes to prepare for the college move. A tip to all students -- organize your things early and dispose off those redundant and unused for years. If there is a need, chuck them away in a nearby self storage unit for easy retrieval in future.
